Top 5 Mughlai food Joints in Kolkata
People of Bengal, specially the Bengalis who reside in or around Kolkata are eternally hungry people and can typically be designated as 'foodies' . This particular designation is not only applicable to Bengalis of Kolkata but can even be extended to all the people who reside in and around Kolkata or in other parts of Bengal. Starting from the local fuchka stall that they have in their locality to the famous biryani of "Dada Boudi" just ask them and they know it all.
This article basically discusses about the top five Mughal food joints in Kolkata. The readers who are going through this article right now specifically those who are not residents of Bengal or Kolkata, this might be a knowledge enhancement package for them. So witout beating around the bush lets straightaway delve into the topic where I tickle your taste buds.πππ
5) Aminia & Arsalan
Well surprisingly the 5th position is occupied by two famous food joints of Kolkata namely Arsalan and Aminia. I am almost sure the people who live in Kolkata are very much acquainted with both these names and it must be strictly mentioned here that these restaurants are one of the most popular choices Bengalis make when they have a craving for biryani or other Mughlai food.
I Categorically remember that when none other were there, Aminia stood tall. I hope u get my point....ππ
The Aminia restaurant near Lindsay Street was their first outlet and was very much famous for their scrumptious biryani and chicken chaap. Personally speaking I do love the biryani and chicken chaap that is served by them and if you ever visit this restaurant do not forget to try their wide array of kebabs and their in house special chicken rezala.
Talking of Arsalan, it is not as old as Aminia and has gained much prominence very recently. Arsalan had its first ever outlet in park circus 7 point crossing and is very much popular amongst people of Kolkata for its biryani. Special mentions chicken cheese kabab.
Both these food joints have now opened a number of outlets throughout Kolkata and even suburban Kolkata. I'll just link the direction to some of the branches of Aminia and Arsalan below.

4) Dada Boudir Hotel
The name might not sound that appealing but the Biryani that this restaurant offers definitely earns itself the fourth position. Dada boudir hotel is a very small food joint located in the the sub divisional town of Barrackpore. This particular restaurant is not having many branches but very recently they have introduced one of their outlets in Sodepur which is also a small town in the district of North 24 parganas West Bengal.
Many people prefer to designate this particular restaurant in Barrackpore as "legendary" ofcourse for valid reasons. π€£π€£π€£π€£The Biryani that is served by Dada Boudi, unlike other Biryanis, served by most other hotels / restaurants in Kolkata, is very much different. It is spicier, oilier and tastier. I have heard that "goat fat" is one of the key ingredients that make this Biryani stand apart. Dada Boudi also serves a huge array of kebabs and other mughlai dishes. so if you ever get the opportunity of visiting this restaurant, biryani and chicken chaap is a must have.I am providing the Google map link to both the restaurants of Dada Boudi below. Check them out.

3) Royal Indian Hotel
If you want to taste authentic mughlai cuisine in Kolkata then you need to visit this place. A legendary restaurant located in the Rabindra sarani of Kolkata precisely the burrabazar area.
The mutton biryani served by this restaurant has its own unique taste which blends in beautifully with the mutton chaap that this restaurant has on offer. A SPECIAL FORM OF AWADH style BIRYANI is served by them, and they prefer to designate it as the royal mutton biryani. Mutton keema, nargisi kofta, mutton pasanda kabab are some of the speical mentions.2) Oudh 1590
A particularly new chain of restaurants in Kolkata which has gained much prominence recently. When it comes to mughlai and Avadh style of food then Oudh 1590 should be your choice. I am almost sure that most of the people who like to try out new restaurants, do so only after going through the reviews that websites have to offer. So my point is, if one searches for oudh 1590, then 90% of the reviews that one will come across will be either"excellent" or "Awesome"
Usually four out of five people who visit this restaurant prefer to rate it a 9 out of 10, which in a way, speaks for itself. MUST HAVES- Mutton kakori kebab, barra kabab, Afghani kabab, rann biryani, Gosht chap .
