6) Kalika (Surya Sen Street)

"Kalikar Choper dokan" is perhaps one of the oldest Telebhaja shops in Kolkata. Located in thr Surjo Sen Street, College square area of Kolkata, this joint is preferred by many when it comes to authentic Bengali telebhaja. The shop is renowned for serving a wide array of chops and cutlets at a very pocket friendly rate.

The last time when I had the opportunity of visiting this shop, the pawn chop costed just 12 bucks(as far as I can remember). From the price point of view and the authentic taste of chop that this shop offers , the tagline of "lays" (the famous potato chip company) being-  "no one can eat just one" can easily be shared with this Telebhaja joint.

5) Golak Barman, Hatibagan

A very renowned chop/ cutlet shop in the Vivekananda road of Kolkata precisely the HatiBagan area, this shop is known to the hoi polloi of Kolkata for the exclusive taste of dishes served by this particular joint. People say that any chop/ cutlet that came out of Golak Barman's kitchen and specifically those  having fish in it, is worth tasting.
Personally speaking I have never had the opportunity of visiting this particular food joint but will definitely be doing so if i get a chance.

4)Basata Cabin , North Kolkata

One of the most iconic fast food joints in the city of Kolkata, precisely the North Kolkata region. Basanta cabin is not just any ordinary fast food restaurant but an emotion to Bengalis of Kolkata .

This cabin has been satisfying the the taste buds of Kolkata since 1890 and and till today the management  has retained their old cabin like structure inside their restaurants. The iconic concept of "cha er cup er adda" can still be seen if one visits this particular food joint during its working hours. If one wishes to take a proper Heritage tour of Kolkata then basanta cabin should surely be one of the places that must be visited, as it is a witness to the history of Kolkata.

3) Niranjan Agar , Girish Park

In at number 3 is Niranjan agar, one of the Heritage food joints in the city of Kolkata, precisely the North Kolkata region, beside Girish park metro station, gate number 2.

A Fast food joint that started in the year 1922 and has been catering to the the people of Kolkata since then. Dimer Devil , fish fry, Chicken foul cutlet are some of the must tryouts of this particular restaurant.


2) Mitra Cafe, Sova bazar

One of the most popular fast food joints in the city of Kolkata the Mitra cafe is having its oldest outlet in shobhabazar close to the shobhabazar metro station. Recently the joint has opened multiple outlets throughout the city of Kolkata  , some of them are at, Shyam Bazar, birati, DCN mall dumdum etc.

The word Mitra means "friend" and the name Mitra Cafe speaks for itself, the management believes in an interesting concept ,that all  customers are its friends and the restaurant belongs to them.

known for the delicious and wide selection of dishes that this restaurant has to offer the Mitra Cafe is specifically known for its fish kabiraji and mutton stew(made with milk).

 This particular food joint has a number of reasons for  occupying the first position.
A must visit place for cutlet lovers. Good food, healthy food, at reasonable price is something that they are famous for.  Allen kitchen is a very famous food joint in the city of Kolkata having two outlets, one at shobhabazar and the other one at hazra road.
If you're looking for a perfect prawn cutlet then allen kitchen is your place.


I had the opportunity of visiting the shobhabazar outlet twice and both the times it has mesmerized me. Words are simply not enough to Praise the quality and taste of food that this particular food joint has to offer.
