The battle of TWS : Comparative analysis of Redmi earbud S & Realme Buds Air Neo

There has been a lot of discussion going on lately around TWS. Different social platforms and tech news sites having have been covering truly wireless speakers (TWS)enormously. Xiaomi and realme both have entered into the TWS market and have very recently launched their budget pair of truly wireless earbuds. Realme launched its "Buds air neo" whereas xiaomi came up with its "Earbuds S". From the price point of view the realme buds air neo, is a bit on the costlier side but there are news coming from the real me end, thar very soon they will be launching their budget pair of TWS that will give direct competition to the earbuds S launched by xiaomi. Redmi earbuds S are priced at Rs1799 and has offered a feature rich package for the Indian consumer base where as on the other side the realme buds air neo is a bit more on the expensive side, looks premium with its apple inspired design and comes with a price tag of Rs2999.

SOUND QUALITY

When it comes to sound quality, then counting on the reviews done by many experts ON DIFFERENT SOCIAL PLATFORMS,  it can be inferred that the realme buds air neo is surely the winner. All the reports suggest that the the redmi earbuds S does have a decent, balanced, rich sound output from its 7.2 mm driver, but when compared to the sound output from the 13mm driver of Realme's buds air neo, surely there seems to be a lot of difference between the two, as it can be genuinely felt that redmi lacks somewhere. Some experts have even suggested that if a consumer is looking for rich, flawless sound then and he/she should definitely go for the realme buds air neo.



Features

‌The Redmi earbuds S is built on a 7.2 mm driver where has the realme buds air neo is built on 13 mm driver. So without there being any kind of a doubt we can surely infer that the realme buds air definitely produces better sound than and the redmi earbuds.
‌ The Realme buds air neo is built on the company's very own R1 chipset which is the same chipset that was present in its predecessor the more costlier realme buds air. This particular chipset helps the realme tws to support Google's fast pair protocol. Whereas when we talk of the Redmi earbuds S, it is actually a rebranded model of the redmi airdots S that was launched in China last month and was priced approximately Rupees 1100. 


‌Redmi claims that its earbuds have a battery life of upto 4 hour and which can be extended to a max of 12 hours when used along with the case whereas the real me airbuds neo claims to have a combined battery life of 17 hours which is approximately 5 hours more than the ear buds launched by redmi.


‌ Redmi earbuds S claims itself to be splash-proof and comes with a feature of IP x 4 water resistance rating whereas there is no such IPX certification provided by realme and does not even guarantee weather the air buds are splash proof or not.

Both have low latency gaming mode


‌ The redmi earbuds S have physical controls and there are very sensitive buttons placed on the back side of each earbud that need to be pressed to control its volume or activate the voice assistant where as the realme buds are embedded with touch controls/gesture controls which add more premiumness to it.


Price

The realme buds air neo are priced at rupees 2999 with better features where as the redmi earbuds s are priced at 1799 with comparatively less features but good performance. So from the price point of view, being a tws priced less than 2000 rupees,Redmi will surely attract more customers and can be said to be a winner in the price segment.
